I voted yesterday, and this will be my last blog post for the next two weeks. I won’t have any more comments until after election day. It’s not that I have run out of things to say about politics; it is just that my daughter has drawn a once-in-a-lifetime Kodiak brown bear tag, and the bear hunting season opens on October 25. We will spend the next two weeks sleeping in a tent in the rain, trying to find her a big one. It's just another one of those Alaska things.
Best wishes for a successful bear hunt for your daughter and you. God willing the wind slows down so your tent stays upright. I am hopeful Measure 1 will not pass but not optimistic since I have not seen ads opposing it.
I wish I was introduced to you at the Vance/ Slaughter/Johnson debate. I voted today also. I was in line for about 15 minutes to get my ballot. I voted the same as you. I voted NO on all of the judges. I don't like the group that picks them for the governor.
Hi Kathy, I'm always happy to meet new people and talk. I am a frequent attendee at the Heaven in Government meetings at the Regent Life Church. Stop by and say hi if you see me there. As far as voting on the judges goes, I respect your opinion. Judge Matthews's dismissal of the Margaret Murphy perjury trial on a technicality and his refusal to release the Grand Jury report to the public has created a significant amount of distrust of the judiciary among the public. I don't blame you for voting NO on all of the judges.
