On Saturday, President Trump issued a statement trying to calm down the anger that conservatives have expressed over Attorney General Pam Bondi’s apparent whitewashing of the Epstein crimes. The President endorsed his AG and said she is doing great work. He urged us to drop the issue and move on, but the public isn’t buying it. It is ironic that President Trump so clearly reads the room when it comes to the public's attitude toward illegal immigration, but doesn’t understand their anger over the Epstein cover-up. Both of these issues are related to the same thing, the rule of law, and whether it applies to all of us or if certain groups are exempt.
It all comes down to the fundamental principle of fairness. Americans as a whole are people who follow the rules and have created a cohesive society based on the concept that we should all be treated equally by our government. That principle is no longer valid if rich and powerful people can get away with committing serious crimes.
President Trump ran on the issue of stopping illegal immigration in the past election, and it resonated with the voters. It is unacceptable to most Americans that illegals are given free cell phones, can fly on airlines without proper government identification, and get housing, medical, and education assistance unavailable to most of us. The public feels that illegal immigrants should not be a special class of people who receive benefits the rest of us do not enjoy. Fortunately, the President has taken action to enforce our laws concerning illegal immigration.
The Jeffrey Epstein situation is similar. It appears that one class of individuals, in his case, the rich and powerful, are being allowed to get away with sex crimes against young girls. Precisely the opposite of the accountability the president is delivering to illegal immigrants.
Before he died, Epstein was arrested for his alleged criminal activity against young girls, and his assistant, Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted and sent to prison for conspiring with him to do so. It is unquestioned that crimes took place on Epstein Island, but none of the clients have been indicted for what they did to these young girls.
That is why the public is enraged about AG Bondi’s actions. When Bondi says there is no client list and no further prosecutions are planned, she is telling us that all the individuals who committed these crimes will get away with it. It creates a situation where the rich are treated like the nobility of the Middle Ages, who can do no wrong against us peasants. She is saying they will be allowed to get away with crimes that would put any other average American in prison. This goes against the fundamental principle of equality that we believe in and is terribly destructive to our cohesion as a society.
Perhaps the evidence of the alleged crimes has been lost, destroyed, or is inadmissible in court for some reason. If that is the case, Bondi should have just come out and said so. Her attempt to convince us there were no other criminals in the Epstein case has the appearance of a cover-up, and that gives both Bondi and President Trump a terrible look.
At this point, it would be easy to jump on the bandwagon and call for Bondi’s resignation, but cartoonist Scott Adams came out with a wise perspective of the situation on Sunday that deserves consideration. Adams said that if the Epstein story is nothing more than a criminal activity, it looks like a cover-up is going on. However, he said if this is something bigger, involving other countries, there are critical geostrategic issues to consider. The bottom line, according to Adams, is that we elected a president to decide what is best when issues can have crucial importance, and the details cannot be shared with the public. He asked if we would want full disclosure of the Epstein information if it would derail a peace process, or if it would give Democrats control of Congress?
Maybe Adams is correct, and President Trump is playing 4-D chess on this issue with some higher objective in mind. Whatever is going on, it all comes down to our trust in the President. There is no doubt that Jeffrey Epstein and his associates committed crimes against children, and all guilty parties deserve punishment. There is also no doubt that Pam Bondi has not yet held the criminals accountable, which frustrates the public. However, President Trump hasn’t let us down so far, and as bad as Bondi’s inaction looks, I am willing to give the President some time to get this sorted out. If the president continues to support Pam Bondi, I think we all should… that is, for now.

Seward’s Folly, you will enjoy the recent conversation podcaster Jesse Kelly has with Mike Benz about Epstein. While he was tried for sexual crimes the role Epstein played was much more extensive. The interview is 24 minutes long. https://youtu.be/vD3XZOPCqH0?si=MHVAEgOa_DIo0Tqp
Don't care. If Trump says something I don't understand or like, I just take his word for it.
Like what ate the alternatives?
Laughing hyena Kamala and political prisoners on top of all those J6 ?
Don't anyone understand Democrats imported army of criminals in millions to beat up all Trumpers and how close call that was. Think we out of woods yet?
Don't bitch at the only guy doing something about it.
He got enough money not to have to.
